In the Bloginning,
God created the universe, and you, and I. It was unfortunate that Adam and Eve disobeyed the Lord's instruction in the garden, as we to date, still suffer the consequences of that disobedience (sin) throughout our lives on this earth.
Thank God for His remedy, Jesus Christ!
John 3:16 (New International Version)
3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Hebrews 11:1-6 (New International Version)
By Faith
1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4 By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.
5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Years ago, as I watched the Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade movie, I was particularly interested in the scene where Indiana was at the cliff's edge of the deep canyon he needed to cross according to his map. At first, he was perplexed as how he would cross that canyon with no bridge in sight to do so. However, realizing his father would die if he did not cross the canyon, he suddenly had total faith in the map's instruction which showed a bridge on paper. In faith he stepped out over the edge and instantly the invisible bridge supported his weight and he further revealed it's existence by throwing sand on it to make its pathway visible.
For those who have not yet put their trust in their creator, this scene is a powerful illustration of how your Holy Bible (map) will increase your faith (believing in the unseen bridge, Jesus) to God and eternal life. Once you step out, you will immediately find yourself cradled in His loving arms of forgiveness. Then, as the angels celebrate your homecoming, your belief will turn instantly to undoubtable certainty.
John 20:29 (New International Version)
20:29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
Believe - then you'll see......... Yourself Made Alive in Christ
Ephesians 2:8 (New International Version)
2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Ephesians 2:1-2
1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Satan), the spirit (anti-christ) who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
Thanks be unto God for His wonderful gift: Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God is the object of our faith;
the only faith that saves is faith in Him.
